CHARMING BEACHES IN ASTURIAS AND CANTABRIA: IDYLLIC PLACES TO VISIT THIS SUMMER

Our hotel stands out, among other things, for being very close to the coast, in an area with spectacular natural beaches, some belonging to Asturias and others to Cantabria. Our location, on the border between these two communities, makes it possible for you to reach some of the best charming beaches in Asturias and Cantabria in just a few minutes.

Below, we present our personalised guide to beaches, all of them of great beauty and many of them little known and hidden, perfect to complement the experience of staying in a charming hotel in Asturias. Our recommendation to visit these charming beaches in Asturias and Cantabria is according to the tides, as the beaches can change a lot depending on this and some are best visited at low tide and others at high tide.

7 CHARMING BEACHES IN ASTURIAS AND CANTABRIA

LA FRANCA BEACH

7 MINUTES AWAY

The closest to our hotel and one of the most beautiful beaches in Asturias.

At low tide, and especially when the tides are over 100 coefficient, you can walk to Bendia Beach with its lobster nurseries and the beach of the Coloradas caves.

You will also be able to see such a beautiful sight as the mouth of a river, in this case the Cabra River. With white sand and moderate waves, this beach has all the services and easy access, making it a charming beach in Asturias, ideal both for visiting and for staying and bathing during the summer months.

BUELNA & COBIJERU BEACH

12 MINUTES AWAY

These two beaches are very close to each other. Any time is perfect to visit them, no matter if the tide is low or high.

It is highly recommended to visit the Cobijeru Cave, which is a Natural Monument (it is necessary to bring a torch). Cobijeru is actually an inland beach, with no direct access to the sea, but with salt water, as it seeps through the cliffs to form a small cove.

To get there, you have to walk the last 350 metres across the countryside from the last area where you can leave your car, next to a path next to the railway tracks.

NOVALES BEACH

14 MINUTES AWAY

Known above all for being in the vicinity of the famous Bufones de Las Arenillas, this beach located in Vidiago and divided into two parts by a rocky outcrop, is ideal to visit at low tide.

Also known as Vidiago or Bretones beach, it has good access through the village and is considered one of the most charming beaches in Asturias and one of the best beaches in Llanes.

It is located within the Costa Oriental Protected Landscape and is characterised by being a beach with strong wind and waves.

CUÉ – ANTILLES BEACH

26 MINUTES AWAY

With fine white sand, it is, like the previous beach, located within the Costa Oriental Protected Landscape.

It is located in a rocky environment, joined by a sandy barrier to a large rock, known as La Islona. At high tide it forms a natural pool without waves, perfect for swimming. It is a beach with low occupancy, little known, but of great beauty and ideal for diving.

SABLE BEACH

24 MINUTES AWAY

This beach is already in Cantabria, specifically in the town of Prellezo, in the municipality of Val de San Vicente.

It is an isolated beach surrounded by vegetation, although it can be reached by car. Made up of fine golden sand, it is 340 metres long and is usually not very busy.

It is a beach with calm waters and therefore suitable for bathing in the hottest months.

BELLERÍN BEACH

20 MINUTES AWAY

Also located in Prellezo, this is a beach of great natural beauty due to its karst formations and one of the most charming beaches in Cantabria.

It is best visited at low tide, as this allows you to visit its karst formations and discover its nooks and crannies.

You cannot get to the beach directly by car, but you only have to walk 300 metres, so it is easily accessible. Next to the access to the beach there is a viewpoint from where you can contemplate this beautiful beach.

OYAMBRE NATURAL BEACH

24 MINUTES FROM THE HOTEL

Located in the town of San Vicente de la Barquera, in Cantabria, this natural park surprises both for the beauty of its landscapes and for its beaches, among the best in Cantabria.

The coastal part of the park is home to marshes, dunes and cliffs of great natural value, while in the inland area there are small hills covered with meadows and criss-crossed by streams.

Its most important beaches are those of Oyambre and Merón, one of the few blue flag beaches in the region and undoubtedly one of the most charming beaches in Cantabria.

In these beaches, which we consider to be among the best in Asturias and Cantabria, you can enjoy an incomparable natural environment and tranquillity, even in the high season, as they are less known beaches than the ones that usually appear in the tourist beach guides of the area.
